Members are now able to register for our Intro to Mental Health First Aid

Wednesday 29th April at 8 pm – 9.30 pm

We are delighted to have accredited Mental Health First Aid trainer and Forest School leader Ben Sherratt with us on the next webinar to give Forest School providers an intro to Mental health first Aid.

This In the Thicket Webinar, is a topical presentation with an expert with a short Q and A session at the end.

The webinar will look at the frameworks used in the mental health first aid training that was introduced in Australia in 2000 and has since spread and developed across the world.  Ben will be giving a few pointers on how we look for signs of mental health issues at Forest School, as well as ways we may dialogue with our learners and work with solution-based methods.  He will also talk about how we signpost to and work with other specialist mental health organisations.  This will be a taster of what the full mental health first aid training covers. This topic was requested during our first Wednesday Webinar.

There will be an opportunity to join a 25 minute community share at the end of the main webinar or continue your mental health discussions.  If you decide to join the community share you can bring along any positive things that are current for you that relate to FS or keeping you connected with your learners and the natural world – these could be a good news story or a new resource or you could share some reading you have had recently been doing, recite a poem…anything…or you can just sit back a listen to what others of like mind have brought to share.

There were a number of people who were disappointed last week because they did not receive automated confirmations to the webinar. You should receive these almost straight away but they often disappear into spam folders or bulk email folders. Please ensure you check for them.
