My special Forest School moment: Tricky i have many. This year I had a special moment when working with a 14 year old young woman who has special needs and came to Forest school at the centre when she was 5. She has a very special abiltiy to make chairs and she announced it was all down to her early forest experience and when she saw her Forest school leader from when she was 5, they embraced like mother and daughter - Such is the power of FS for building very special relationships, both with the wood and people.
I love Forest School because ... there is nothing quite so great as connecting people to woodlands and seeing them becoming comfortable in this diverse environment, watching the creativity flow and a caring community evolve. It has the capacity to build special learning communities where all have a stake and all are equal, while connecting with the natural world in a healthy, active way.
