Job description: The Butterfly Patch is expanding into Forest Schools, with our first one opening soon inside Morden Park.

Located in the idyllic Morden Park with streams and meadows, our facilities will allow us to do much more than your average Nursery.

Responsibilities and Duties

Plan, deliver and evaluate forest school sessions, liaising with other setting staff as required Be responsible for preparing all resources, activities and food required for each session Be responsible for the safe checking, cleaning, maintenance and storage of tools Carry out and maintain all relevant risk assessments and risk-benefit assessments Develop and implement an appropriate management plan for all sites used Help promote forest school, outdoor learning Ensure appropriate staff-child ratios are maintained Work effectively as part of a team, adapting your role and responsibilities as required Inform the Manager of any problems, concerns or issues which may affect your ability to carry out your responsibilities effectively or which may be affecting the quality of care Always maintain a high standard of care and contribute to maintaining an environment which is caring, stimulating, welcoming and safe Be aware of and to implement effectively all Kids Play Early Years policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Child Protection, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), among others Take up opportunities for continuing professional development and to keep up to date with current regulations and standards of good practice

Person specification : We are looking for a confident Forest Schools Practitioner, with previous experience in this type of role working with children aged 0-5yrs. You will also be qualified in Forest Schools to a minimum of level 2.

You must show a real passion for outdoor activities and education.

You must be willing to work in an outside setting in all weathers throughout the year, have strong communication and leadership skills.
