Salary: Negotiable depending on experience/qualification
Location: Mottingham, SE London
Job categories: Forest School Assistant, Forest School Leader, Forest School Trainer
Job description:
Mottingham Hall for Children has a large open space suited for child use to enhance learning opportunities for all age ranges.  Included within that is approx. 1/3rd acre of woodlands. The role will involve you working with a variety of ages from birth to 4. The children will be in the woodland on a daily basis, and therefore the role would mean planning for childrens interest on a daily basis.
It is proposed to develop other uses of those areas, for example Pet Farm; designated areas for a variety of activities; forest school; activities for older age ranges (child birthday events, discovery events for child and family, education and discovery areas for use by local community.)  You will join the team in nurturing this project, committing research, drawing and implementing plans of action, marketing, trialling, organising and running the facilities to ensure maximum potential is achieved for its’ client groups.
You must remain flexible to the needs of the business whilst such developments are taking place. This may involve joining with the internal team where there are pressures on team owing to challenges outside of Company control.
You will be working directly with the children to encourage their participation, assess and plan for their educational development and work with the team to meet the very individual needs of all children no matter what age range.
Safeguarding throughout all of nursery activities is of paramount importance and you must remain fully aware of any changes or requirements Company team should promote in order to ensure safeguarding remains a priority in all that we do.  This will involve training and other exercises which may require your commitment outside of “working hours”.
“Working hours” in the case of Forest School will eventually involve 7 days per week shift rotations of 40 hours minimum to ensure all nursery activities are fully covered with the same objective to ensure our client groups receive the best from us.  Nursery currently opens Monday to Friday from 7am to 6.30pm and your “working hours” will fall between 6.30 am and last child leaver on each of those days until such time as outdoor and events facilities are launched.
