Job description: Into The Woods is a completely outdoor nursery, based in Queens Wood and Highgate Wood in North London. We have children 2½ –5 years old and are term time only. We spend all day, every day in the woods — we build a camp at the start of the day and spend half our time there, and the other half exploring.

We have a fantastic team of committed outdoor nursery practitioners, and are now looking for someone who wants to join us in the woods.
The role of Deputy Manager is that of outdoor nursery practitioner, working with the children every day, but with management responsibility. The appointed person will have overall responsibility for the running of the nursery when the manager is not at the woods, and will be expected to contribute to the development of the nursery.
Person specification : We want someone who:
– has a genuine passion for outdoor learning,
– has lots of energy and wants to be outdoors every day,
– has lots of early years experience,
– has a very good working understanding of the EYFS and how its requirements can be met in our setting,
– can lead and manage other team members,
– has either a teaching qualification or at least level 3 in childcare.
