Job description: Little Forest Folk are a full time outdoor forest nursery for 2-5-year-old children, providing an exceptional outdoor experience in a play-based, child-led environment. We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join our exceptional  team in Chiswick.

As a Deputy Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of the day in the forest and at the indoor site. Directly reporting to the manager on site, you\’ll liaise with them daily about logistics, routines and required tasks to support them with daily operations. You will be co-responsible for ensuring the safety, safeguarding and well-being of the children and staff, and will step up to lead teams in the absence of the manager. You will role model and promote the setting\’s philosophy and ethos, and support the team to provide wonderful and dynamic opportunities for the children to learn and grow.

Start: early-April, a 10 month maternity leave cover

Person specification: A minimum of Early Years Level 3 qualification or QTS/PGCE Experience as a manager or deputy in a nursery setting Forest School training is desirable but not essential A real passion for nature play and engaging children with the outdoors Experience of implementing the EYFS statutory framework Good knowledge and understanding of the safeguarding children obligations Someone who is highly organised, reliable and a driven team-player Strong relationship-building and communication skills to build a rapport with parents and practitioners alike The ability to adapt quickly to changes, is flexible and uses initiative
