The day before the national Forest School festival, 5th-7th October 2018 Bradmoor Woods, Norfolk, there will be a wonderful, one off, opportunity to attend an all day EARTHWALKS LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP run by Steve Van Matre, the founder of Earth Education.

EARTHWALKS LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP
An Earthwalk is made up of a series of four to six engaging activities designed for a light and refreshing touch of nature that focuses on reawakening senses and sharpening perceptions. During an Earthwalk the leader is the guide rather than the focal point for the focus is on the natural world. There are new ways to re-discover familiar things and captivating introductions to the unfamiliar as participants get to know the subtleties of micro-marvels, the worlds underfoot, and often-overlooked elements of nature.  This one-day workshop emphasizes the leadership skills necessary for offering great Earthwalks, which flow from beginning to end, as participants explore the natural wonders of a place.
    During the workshop you will:
  •  Learn how Earthwalks fit into the overall structure of earth education
  •  Experience a model Earthwalk
  •  Participate in an in-depth analysis of leading a walk
  •  Examine four crucial leadership guidelines for earth educators
  •  Discover how an Earthwalk can be the beginning of a new relationship with nature

This workshop will run 9am – 5pm on Friday 5th October 2018 at Bradmoor Woods.  There will be catering, details yet to be finalised. There will be the opportunity to stay on site, on the Thursday night, if you want to camp/campervan/bivy free of charge.
