Job description: Get Out More CIC is looking for talented qualified freelance practitioners to join our busy team.  Get Out More CIC is a social enterprise with a vision to generate well-being through positive outdoor experiences.  Our mission is to help people engage with nature to feel better about themselves in mind and body, in other words, we want people to get more out of life through getting outdoors. We run a popular programme of holiday forest schools for 5-11 year olds in beautiful woodlands across West & North Yorkshire, the next of which are this October half-term (24-28 Oct). As the company expands, we are looking for more suitably qualified and experienced freelance professionals to join our committed team of freelance practitioners to deliver this growing programme locally. There may also be the potential for term-time work, if you are interested. We look forward to hearing from you.

Person specification: We welcome applicants who:

  • Have a keen interest and experience of working on forest schools
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Are reliable, prompt, helpful and supportive
  • Are professional and able to adhere to Get Out More\’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding, Health and Safety and other policies
  • Will enjoy being part of a positive and committed team

We require all staff to have a current DBS check (less than 3 years old) and public liability insurance to £5m. In certain limited circumstances we can cover practitioners under our own employee liability insurance, but this must be discussed in advance.  All Forest School Leaders should have their Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification including a current (less than 3 years) outdoor first aid certificate (min 16 hours). Support Practitioners should be qualified to Level 2 or working towards their Level 3. All paid practitioners must be self-employed and making their own arrangements to pay tax & NI contributions.
