Job description: Applications are invited for a suitably experienced and qualified individual who can lead environmental education, forest schools and visitor services at the Council’s High Woods Country Park.

Responsible for day to day operations, the post holder will work at the park’s visitor centre.

The post holder is also responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing all aspects of the front-of-house at the visitor centre, recruiting volunteers, and ensuring that administrative needs are met.  It is their responsibility to ensure that service standards are met each day, and policies and procedures are being followed and are up to date, taking responsibility for financial security.

The post holder will co-ordinate and lead the educational programme including Forest Schools and the health walk programme at the park. Customer care is at the centre of this work but an understanding and knowledge of the National Curriculum, and a demonstrable interest in natural history is essential as is the possession of IT skills.

The post holder is required to communicate with a wide range of visitors including school groups, park users, staff, and representatives from external organisations.  As a key holder they will be responsible for building security, have the ability to work on their own initiative and be willing to work weekends.
