The Treehouse Forestry Pre-School and Out of School Club is a unique setting based in Norsey Woods, Billericay. Offering both a pre-school and out of school club for children aged from 2 to 11 years old, we are open from 7am until 7pm and offer our children the wonderful experiences of attending a forestry setting and learning in an outside environment.

We are looking for a qualified practitioner to join our growing management team.

Job Description:

Purpose of the job:

You will be assigned as the manager of our out of school club as well as supporting our pre-school manager in the morning pre-school sessions. As the Out of School Club manager you will be co-ordinating two separate rooms with segregated age groups, you will be leading our out of school club team to provide a mix of indoor and outdoor sessions for all of our children. Our out of school club operates before and after our pre-school from 7am until 9:30am and then from 2:45pm until 7:00pm. The hours of work are 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Working within our morning pre-school sessions, you will be assisting the manager to provide structured indoor and outdoor pre-school activities to children aged from 2 to 4 years old.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordinating the planning across all age groups and rooms in the Out of School Club.
  • Managing a team of out of school club staff including qualified practitioners and apprentices.
  • Planning the school drop off and collection rotas.
  • Ensuring that the club is opened and closed efficiently.
  • Providing a role model to the team to developing them to provide a high level of childcare and education.
  • Supporting the pre-school manager during morning sessions.
  • Planning and helping within pre-school activities.

Person specification:

The ideal applicant will have the following skills and qualities:

  • At least three years of Out of School Club managerial experience
  • Strong team managerial skills and a proven track record of team management.
  • Experience of running at least a 30 child setting.

How will we evaluate you and your suitability to this role:

  • We will be looking for you to demonstrate relevant experience across a strong out of school club career.
  • Pre-school experience is preferred.
  • You will have the suitable skills and qualifications, with at least a level 3 in childcare.
