Job description: Green Light Trust (GLT) has been delivering Forest School practitioner training at level 1 – An Introduction to Forest School, Level 2 – Forest School Assistant and Level 3 – Forest School Leader for over 10 years, training over 1000 Forest School practitioners, school teachers, nurseries nurses, youth workers and Ofsted Inspectors. We also offer support to practitioners through continuous professional development courses, conferences and networking.

To respond to the increasing interest in outdoor learning and sustainable values based education we are looking to appoint a manager who will demonstrate the value that GLT places on this approach to child and whole school development, provide innovative, inspiring and passionate support to tutors, and deliver and lead development of this work.

Person specification: Qualified to Level 3 in environmental, conservation or woodland management (L4 desirable) or in a related area of study, and or 10 years recent experience of working in environmental, conservation or woodland management. Ideally Bush-craft knowledge.

  • PTLLS, CTTLLS or DTLLS qualification
  • Experience of developing and delivering learning and development programmes against specific qualifications • Experience of working with special interest groups, which may include vulnerable and young adults • A working knowledge of Forest School delivery (L3 desirable) • Experience of compiling information and reports and undertaking research • Experience of supervising and motivating staff • A good understanding of current education practice and management at ideally all levels • Experience of partnership working • Knowledge and experience of using spreadsheets, financial planning and monitoring tools • Good communication and presentation skills, both oral and written • Strong focus on customer experience and communication • Proven problem-solving skills • Proven general ICT skills • Health and Safety/First Aid trained
