Job description: The Tree Hive are looking a qualified Forest School Practitioner to join our small and friendly team. We are based in 12 acres of beautiful woodland, and work with home educated, and flexi-schooled children, aged 4-10 years old. We are an independent forest school, and ensure that the Forest School ethos and principles, are at the heart of everything we do.

Working alongside one other Forest School Leader, you will assist with sessions on Tuesdays and/or Fridays (during term time) between 9am and 3pm. Your job will involve making, and recording observations of children, assisting with practical tasks, and attending termly meetings, which will take place outside of working hours. The ideal candidate will have bags of enthusiasm and patience, love working with children and embrace the great British weather!

Person specification: Suitable candidates must have:

  • QTS or an Early Years qualification
  • Forest School Qualification Level 2/3 (applicants currently undertaking training, will also be considered)
  • Basic Safeguarding Training
  • Knowledge of the EYFS
  • The ability to adapt and to ‘think on your feet’.
  • A sound understanding of child development and child-centred learning

The following are desirable, but not essential:

  • Forest School Qualification Level 3
  • Enhanced DBS*
  • Paediatric First Aid**
  • Outdoor First Aid
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead Training (within 2 years)
