Salary (per year): Starting at £17,500

Location: West / Central London

Starting in January 2014 Nursery School Vacancy Queens Park, London

We are a busy little London Nursery School that really embraces the outdoors.

One of our lovely Early Years teachers is leaving and we have decided to try having a qualified and experienced Level 3 FS Leader on-board instead. The aim is to really maximise and enhance our use of the outdoors – being in Central London we do not have a forest but we do have a base camp, natural den and Mud Kitchen as well as a little allotment!

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8-4.30 and Fri 8-12.30 plus some extra weekly hours for non contact time and some extra half-termly hours for staff meetings and training days.

Term time only (approximately 40 weeks per year).

We need someone to become part of a happy team, teaching, playing and caring for children age 2-5yrs. It includes nappies and cleaning up but there is also tons of wonderment, learning and development to scaffold. You need to be calm, kind and energetic. Someone who enjoys being around little children. Likes being in the outdoors in all weathers and can encourage others to feel the same way.

Qualifications are essential and usually we would insist on any EY courses listed on the QCA Framework, however, we can make an exception for the right person. As long as you have your L3 FS Leaders award (and clear DBS) we will consider your application

Good spoken and written English is essential because you will need to be able to make observations about children’s development, collate those records and share them with parents.

It is not a huge salary but you do get lots of paid holidays, half day every Friday and an enjoyable place of work.

Starting salary is £17,500 it could be more if you have dual qualifications eg NVQ3/ EYPS/ EY Foundation Degree / Degree etc If you are thinking about training in Early Years we can guide you on that.

If you are thinking about setting up your own FS in the School Holidays we could also help you with that.

Please email me in the first instance nicolekennedymrs@gmail.com

Please send a cover letter telling me a bit about yourself and  please attach a recent C.V.

Closing date for applications 20th November and Interviews will be held during the three weeks after that date.

We are committed to a strict Safer Recruitment Policy and we will do everything within our power to exclude known abusers. Employment is subject to reference checks and a clear CRB/DBS check.
