Job Description

To assist in the delivery a range of forest learning activities to a variety of client groups,

To deliver other types of less formal learning activities : family events, woodland birthday parties

To assist in the delivery of teacher training: how to take the curriculum outdoors

To develop the number and range of activities at the local Forest location

To develop good relationships with stakeholders of the local provision

Job Responsibilities

•     In conjunction with the National Learning Manager and Local Forest Learning Leader, devise and deliver a variety of learning programmes to different groups

•     Ensure monitoring and evaluation of all activities through client feedback

•     Actively seek to improve our service and the quality of our provision

•     Be actively involved in assisting in meeting the criteria of the LOTC quality award

•     Make a positive contribution so that all agreed KPI’s are met at the local forest location

•     Support the Local Forest Learning Leader in developing and managing the relationship with 3rd Party Regional Learning team

•     Ensuring that all sites used within the Local Forest Area are managed in accordance with guidelines and take responsibility for maintenance

•     Actively participate in local marketing initiatives to further develop the offering at the Local Forest

Person Specification

Essential Knowledge, Experience and skills

•     English and Maths at GCSE or L2 equivalent

•     Level 2 Forest School Practitioner Qualification ( or trainee level 3 Forest School Practitioner)

•     Experience with working with children, young people and adults outdoors

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and skills

•     Understanding of the national curriculum

•     Understanding of the principles of Health and Safety

•     Understanding of equality and diversity matters

•     Outdoor paediatric first aid qualification

Other requirements

•     Friendly, good communicator with empathetic approach

•     Organised and committed to improving quality of provision

•     Willing to extend own learning and develop skills

•     Willingness to undertake evening and weekend work
